Oak Ridge Horn Honk
The official SARM Horn Honk Website
SARM #2064 is all ready to go after a horn swap out in late Sept of 2004.
Oak Ridge Horn Honk is brought to you by Steve Forrest and Charlie Poling of the Southern Appalachia Railway Museum, also known as the SARM. The museum and members have sponsored this annual national gathering of locomotive air horn collectors since 2003 and continues to do so. Without their help and generosity this event would not be possible.
Oak Ridge Horn Honk is about the only location in the United States that is best suited for an event such as this that you can practically make as much noise as you want to without anyone complaining or calling the police, let alone be able to use real railroad equipment, Oak Ridge is considered to be the premier location for almost unlimited horn blowing.
Oak Ridge horn honk is set up so that a locomotive is supplied to allow each participant the ability to mount, record, and experience the sound of their own personal air horns while in use on a real railroad locomotive in motion. This event is usually held the last weekend in September. For more information about our Oak Ridge Horn Honk event feel free to explore this site further.
